Whole 30 - Week 1
Week one started off with a bang!! I was coming off on a long weekend in Colorado with my best college friends and grocery shopping just seemed daunting. So I spent that Monday researching the recipes I wanted to try out that week and went on a major grocery shopping spree that night. One thing is for sure on this diet, FOOD PREP, FOOD PREP, FOOD PREP. If food prep is not something you do regularly at the moment, then it may seem like a lot at first, but I promise, the more you do it, the more you get used to it, and the more you come to find out how much EASIER it makes you life during the week. I made myself some awesome egg cups (recipe link), baked some chicken (recipe link), and crossed my fingers that all the food I got would suffice through the week. Day 1 was a breeze, I thought to myself "What is the big deal? Why do people think this is so hard?", then Day 2-4 came and the "hangover stage" began. At this point of the diet, you body is ridding itself of all the sugar and processed food it had been used to eating and your body is trying to find energy in places that it is not quite used to. Do not be alarmed, the head ache just mean you are DOING IT RIGHT! This will soon go away :)
