Why Whole30?
What is Whole30? Why am I so interested in it? Why is everyone talking about it right now? All of these questions and more will be answered in my upcoming blog posts. In the simplest of terms, Whole30 is not only a diet to regulate the way you eat and think about food, but an amazing cleanse for your digestive system. Think Paleo (caveman style eating), but a tiny bit different. I first heard about the diet from my friends, and after that, I feel like I started hearing people refer to it everywhere. I kept telling myself that one day I would try it, but Summer was all around me, meaning BBQ's, long Happy Hours, river floating trips, and of course BRUNCH! With all these temptations constantly surrounding me, there was NO WAY I could focus on no dairy, no bread, no sugar, and worst of all, NO ALCOHOL during the summer, what, am I a crazy person? Who wants to miss those bottomless mimosas on Saturday morning? Not me! But then, July rolled around, Fourth of July felt like it lasted for a straight week, and I finally told myself, its time to get serious, and now, here I am! It is Day 5 of my Whole30 journey and so far everything is going great! If you are reading this post, then you are just as curious about the cleanse as I was and I am hoping to be a place where you feel comfortable asking questions and gaining the confidence you need to finally put the bottomless mimosas behind you for 30 days and find a new way of eating you will want to carry with you forever.
